The Southern Islands from Seascape

Seascape stands where Sentosa Cove meets the open sea, so the view from its seaward homes runs across the anchorage of the Singapore Strait to a cluster of small islands. This guide names the islands on the horizon and explains how to reach them.

What Seascape Looks Out On

South and east of the site lie the Southern Islands, a group of small islands a short distance offshore. The nearest are St John’s Island, about 2.6 kilometres from the site in a straight line on OneMap; Kusu Island, about 3.1 kilometres; and Lazarus Island, about 3.2 kilometres, joined to St John’s by a causeway.

Between them and the shore, ships ride at anchor in the strait, and their lights mark the water after dark. The developer’s fact sheet describes the outlook of the development as views of the sea and the southern islands, and the photographs in the gallery show it at sunset and at dusk.

Reaching the Islands from Seascape

The islands are reached by sea. The Singapore Land Authority notes that ferries to St John’s Island and Kusu Island leave from Marina South Pier, about 4.4 kilometres from the site in a straight line, and that Lazarus Island is reached on foot across the causeway from St John’s. Boat owners at the marina of Sentosa Cove can also make the crossing by private craft.

Which Seascape Homes Face the Sea

The two blocks follow the shoreline, so the seaward side of each home looks over the pools and the promenade towards the strait. At the tip of the site, stack 01 of 57 Cove Way, home to the Sea Villa, the Type D homes and the Sky Villa, has the sea on three sides. The architect’s account of the project notes that the site tapers to a point, giving the end homes a view of the sea of about 180 degrees.

Height changes the picture. The first-storey garden homes look out across their private enclosed spaces and the planting of the grounds, the middle storeys look over the pool terraces to the water, and the penthouses on the attic storey add terraces and private pools above it all. The elevation chart places every type by stack and storey, and the floor plans show the balconies.
